Buying a pre-owned phone in South Africa, without the gamble
A new iPhone 17 Pro Max costs around R30,699 at retail. The same phone, a generation or two older and in Grade A condition, does the same job for a fraction of that — which is the whole reason the second-hand market in South Africa is as big as it is. The gamble is what you don't know: whether the IMEI is clean, whether the screen has been swapped, whether the battery has been through three owners.
We close that gap three ways. Every handset is checked against the blacklist before it is listed, so it cannot be reported stolen and locked while you own it. Every unit goes through a 30-point bench test — screen, cameras, speakers, charging, sensors, buttons — and anything that fails is repaired or not listed at all. And every phone carries a 6-month warranty that covers hardware faults.
What "Grade A" actually means here
Grade A means 90% new — slightly used and in good condition. We choose Grade A because it keeps the price low while the condition stays good. If you'd like Grade A+ instead, message us on WhatsApp: it's US$70 (about R1,170) more per phone.
How payment and delivery work
Pay by bank transfer into our Nedbank collection account. Nothing is charged until you confirm at checkout, and every order gets an order number to quote. We dispatch 3–5 working days after payment clears, then Aramex carries it for about 15 days with tracking; the number appears in My orders the moment the parcel leaves us.
